FOLLOWER – female follows form is the name of the art project that the artists Simone Kessler & Edward Beierle have created as part of the Architektursommer 2019. Based on the famous Bauhaus motto “form follows function” the two artists 100 years later build a bridge to the present with the project FOLLOWER – female follows form. Now it’s not only the form that is following the function, but also the person the architecture and the digital follower the art project online.

FOLLOWER – female follows form is an art project that invites everyone to experience architecture and urban space anew through playful investigation. This takes place through the activities of all participants themselves, by placing themselves in an unusual physical relationship to the architecture and capturing this photographically. From 7. 5. to 21. 7. large posters will be hanging at six specially selected locations to guide and invite people to take part.

The collaboration of two or more participants (one photographer and one part to be photographed) promotes collaborative and artistic activities in public space. The aim is to experience a change of perspective to architecture, urban space and to each other through a literally new (body) posture in space. This experience will also be given to spectators of the action on site and viewers of the photos taken.

Participation is expressly open to anyone. All that is needed is a smartphone with Internet access in addition to your own physical activity. The images can be uploaded via Instagram or e-mail. Using the hashtag #femalefollowsform automatically creates a picture gallery on the site www.
